Well, we finally went ahead and had Elijah's hair cut for the first time. We took him to Tamra, our local hairdresser here in Fairfax. It's great- the first haircut is free, plus you get this very cute certificate to mark the occasion.
Needless to say, he really needed a haircut! To illustrate that point, here's a "before" picture:
To be fair to Eli, he HAD just woken up...
"During":
And "After":
He was really good, sat nicely for Tamra and didn't seem to mind his first haircut at all!
We had a snowday on Friday, which made for a lovely long weekend. Nothing like the ice and wind damage down in NH. It was very cold on Saturday, which was the day we had planned to cut down our tree. So we postponed that task until Sunday. It was considerably warmer, but quite windy, which made it feel brisk! Much to Ed's pleasure, I picked out a tree in record time, since we were carrying Elijah through the tree farm (he has not yet mastered the task of walking in snow boots, and after a couple of near-dumps out of the toboggan, he'd decided he'd had enough of THAT ride).
6 more school days until Christmas vacation!

A really cute certificate and a great haircut! Zoe is looking kinda jealous of Elijah's haircut. Seems to me that Addison really put up a fuss getting his first haircut and that hasn't changed at age 19.
I bet not many kids are as good for their first haircut as it looks like Elijah was!! And he is as handsome as can be! I think the hairdresser is a marketing genius...that certificate is very sweet, and to have it be free...that is the way to keep a customer!! Hope you are enjoying the tree!! 6 days sounds good...we work the 23rd!
Enjoy!!
Elijah looks very handsom with his new haircut. And he actually looks like he was enjoying having it done! Wayne was terrible when I took him for his first haircut. He cried and screamed and would not sit still, so it came out all crooked and funny. So I bought a little barber kit and have been cutting their hair myself ever since. It still comes out crooked and funny but at least it's free!
Yes, Elijah is cute, of course, but let's discuss THE HANDSOME MAN in the foe-toes! Sometimes I forget how cute my brothers are. And they are cute, darn it!
Here's to haircuts and snowdays!
Great pictures of Elijah's first haircut!! It looks like he actually enjoyed the experience, which is great since you will notice just how fast his hair grows now that you've had it cut! I love seeing the photo's of Ed with Eli - they really resemble each other quite a bit, in my opinion!
We got our tree on Saturday, and decorated it on Sunday. On monday Ruby knocked it down. Ornaments, lights and bulbs went crashing everywhere, along with water, tree sap and pine needles all over the place. It was quite a mess!! Hopefully it scared Ruby enough to keep her away. Darn cat!
On Friday Kyle is in his first "preschool performance" - we CAN'T WAIT to see what's in store! I heard him mumbling "Jingle Bells" the other day, so I'm assuming he'll be singing. We're going to tape it..will share with you a/s/a/p!
Grammie and I think Elijah's hair cut is so cute! He looks like such a little man.
Enjoy your tree!
