My father went in for surgery today to remove the tumor in his colon. He came through the 4-hour procedure pretty well and my sisters report that he was in good spirits despite being in incredible pain and a little "out of it" from the medication. He will be in the hospital for about a week and now has a colostomy bag, which he'll have for a couple of months until the next surgery.
I feel thankful that everything seems to be going as smoothly as possible throughout this whole ordeal.

Thinking of you, Sandy, and your dad, of course, and hoping he will be feeling better each day.
Love, Joanie
I second what Joan said.
So glad to hear your Dad's surgery went well. He sounds like a superhero, so I'm sure he'll be up and around in no time.
I wish your dad a speedy recovery. We will keep him and all of you in our thoughts and prayers.
