Not My Fault

Last night, Ed picked up a meal from Junior's and brought it to Ellie and Jake's house. He reported that all of Ellie's children were present, as well as some of her grandchildren. Ed felt at peace, and was comforted by the fact that Ellie was able to come back to her home and that he had the opportunity to visit her, tell her he loves her, and say "goodbye". We learned that Annie had her baby (a girl, Olivia) yesterday morning, John had headed to Maine to be with them.
I'm sure it must have been a bittersweet day for Debbi.
We've been thinking of them a lot.
I thought I'd re-post this lovely picture from this past winter. Happier times:

Today I decided to cut Elijah's hair again. Actually, this time, it's Not My Fault. I can hardly take blame for the "hack" job when Ed was barking orders at me in a way that I'm told was characteristic of Wayne Henry...
"Cut it shorter. You didn't even cut anything that time. Shorter!"
Well, it's shorter, alright!

Here are some pictures.

Between the new haircut and his Army fatigues, he looks ready to enlist!
The haircut IS pretty cute. What you're not seeing, of course, is the quarter-sized bald spot at the nape of his neck!

Well, I guess he can always wear a hat! Here are some pics from yesterday. Eli stayed home sick with an ear infection and a fever. As you can tell from these photos, though, he wasn't THAT sick!

Grammie says, "Elijah's getting cuter every time we see him."

I think that hair cut and those army fatigues do look like he's ready to enlist. Yet, he's a cute little soldier!

Loved the picture of Ellie and family when she was well. How nice to see that picture.

Hey Sandy! Elijah's haircut looks great. It looks like it was done by a professional. I do think shorter is better in the warmer weather.

I'm glad he didn't feel too bad with his ear infection and fever.

It's nice to see the picture of Ellie surrounded by her family, and happy.

Love the ARMY look on Eli! He looks like such a big boy with the short hair and baseball cap!

We love Elijah's "big boy" hair cut! Jim is known as the "king of the clippers" around here. He bought a pair of cheap clippers at Walmart a few years ago & has since taken on the role of being barber - he not only shaves his own head but Kyle's as well - saves us a fortune! Of course, he's had his mishaps with the clippers but for the most part he does a great job & I just love little boys with short hair :)
We hope Eli is feeling better. That poor baby just can't catch a break!!!! Hopefully he doesn't give you a hard time taking his medicine!
Are you guys heading to Maine in May? If so, are you sleeping at the cottage? While we are hoping to make it (I would like to spend the week there with Kyle) I think for that weekend we may sleep at the local motel. It's cheap, and guarentee's me a bed LOL

Ah, little boys with short hair and baseball caps and army clothes! Cute cute cute.
Ed, barking? Can't imagine.
Sandy, if you ever want to hear about the time I, driving the red Bronco, plowed both our driveway in Glover and Wesley's with Dad in the passenger seat....... I literally had to go lie down for about 2 hours afterward.

Elijah could not be any cuter! It's a great haircut, Sandy!
