Weekend Fun

So many fun things to do last weekend!
It all started with our monthly Bunco night. Think 12 women, food, spirits and some games of dice. It was a super-fun evening at Beth's house, but (thank goodness) no pictures to share...although those of you on Facebook might have caught glimpse of an incriminating photo that I quickly "untagged" myself from....
The next morning, I was getting up early to meet Aimee for a shopping trip to North Conway. Of course, knowing I had to get up early, our dog made lots of loud licky-sounds all through the night that kept waking me. This, followed by a happy toddler playing in his crib- wide awake- at 5:15AM! To say the least, by the time I met Aimee in St. Johnsbury, I was quite tired.
But duty calls! Aimee needed warm-weather clothes and I was going to help her find some. Well, okay, I helped ME find some...and I (unlike Aimee) didn't really NEED any...but we were in true "shop-til-you-drop" mode. A lot of hours and money later, I dropped her back off to her car and I got home around 7:30PM.
Sunday, I was up at 5:30AM for my 6:30 morning run with Liz. Then I thought I'd give Ed a break from his weekend of "Eli-Duty". Elijah and I ran a couple of errands and then joined Heather's family for some apple picking at Chapin's Orchard. Here are the pictures from a beautiful autumnal day:
Mommy and Elijah in the sunflowers:
Apple picking's serious business!
Elijah picked the whole bag all by himself (although I went through to remove apples with bruises and/or bites taken out of them):The Garrow boys (Jackson, 8 and Ryan, 6), sporting their new long hair-do's:My best friend Heather:
Ava, Jackson, Ryan and Brady. We could NOT get Elijah to join this picture.
Enjoying apple #1 (not counting multiple one-biters during the picking process).
The obligatory tractor ride:
Back at home, some "peek-a-boo" fun in and among the pole beans:
Something abut this last picture reminds me of Wayne when he was little. What do you think?
A much more relaxing weekend ahead...Ed will leave for camp on Friday...the weather looks great, so Elijah and I will enjoy the Underhill Harvest Market.

I don't know what Bunco is but I want in! Sounds fun!
Though I went out for Thomas' bday Tuesday and had barely 2 beers and it just about did me in.
Lovely photos of Elijah! Yes he does look like Wayne!
And lastly, apple picking, North Conway, and the Underhill Harvest Market. You are making me cry over here!

What a fun weekend you had, Sandy! Must have been hard to go back to school Monday morning.

I think that last picture reminds you of Wayne when he was younger because Elijah is "on the move" in the picture. Wayne, of course, has always been an active little boy.

I was actually thinking the same thing that Lisa wrote. I think Wayne and Elijah have that same "on the move" personality. Great pictures. Tomorrow the kindergarten class is going on a field trip to an apple orchard, so hopefully, I'll have some good apple pickin' pictures too.

P.S. I have no idea what Bunco is. Some sort of drinking game? I wanna see that facebook photo!

There are enough Alexander women that we could play family Bunco one night... it is SO much fun, with or without the drinks!

Bunco is a harmless game of dice where you try to roll sixes. It's kind of silly, but a great excuse to get together once a month and enjoy some wicked fun company!!!

YOu make me cry over here too, and I LIVE in Vermont. So wanted to go shopping with you and Aimee!! What fun it always was for me to get away, even if I had to tote a nursing baby (Addy) and nurse him on the Kangamungus hwy!! Elijah looks like he is enjoying his secret garden!!
