For our April break, we decided to go on our first real family vacation with Elijah. On Sunday, we headed down to Rhode Island for my Aunt Nancy's surprise birthday party. Here's Ed and Elijah, glad to finally be out of the car! The "Birthday Girl" arrives!

That evening, we drove to Woburn, MA to check into our hotel, approximately 10 miles north of Boston. Here's Elijah on Day #1, getting ready to go to the Boston Children's Museum:The very first exhibit was this set of amazing climbing platforms. It was all good until Elijah lost his shoes and had trouble getting around in just his socks. He started freaking out and Ed had to climb up into the contraption to rescue him!Once we all recovered from the big rescue mission, there were all kind of cool gadgets and exhibits to play with:
A favorite, the sand tables:
And a second favorite, the huge train table:

I love the pics of Eli and Curious George! Looks like it was a great time... sorry you had to come home to no power though!
Wow, fun times! Family and kids fun too. Great trip! That museum reminds me of a place in Paris we took Estelle 2 New Year's ago. Also your trip reminds me of when we came home from Morocco and Thomas had turned off the fridge for 10 days. Smelly!
After your recent post, it sounded like you really needed that vacation. Glad it was a good one!Your family really seems to celebrate all the special moments. Nice that you could be there. Your Dad looks great. The museum and aquarium - WOW, so much fun. Would love to take the kids there sometime.
Looks like you had a great vacation. Elijah seemed to enjoy every minute of it. He has such a big smile in every picture, it seems.
Loved the pictures of Ed with Elijah and you, Sandy, with Elijah. You all looked so relaxed and happy.
I agree with Darlene that your Dad looks very good!
Grammie says, "It looked like a lot of fun for Elijah. It looked like a very interesting museum."
Lisa says, "We used to take our three girls to the children's museum yearly when they were little. It was a big day trip for us and so exciting for everyone!"
Looks like so much fun!!
Sandy, our teachers went bowling and loved it! I was the lowest scorer, but laughed the entire night! I think I only beat the bumper bowling kids! Glad you were all able to get away for vacation. I have never been the the children's museum, but wished my kids had seen it. Looks terrific! Elijah could be the next science teacher!!
