Elijah dictated his very first letter to Santa last night, while I diligently acted the part of scribe. I had to prompt him with a lot of questions, such as examples of HOW he has been a good boy, etc. I tried to stay as true to his words as possible.
Too cute! If you can read the letter, you can see it's all about trains and trucks! I asked him why he didn't have me write down any books (MY favorite gift for him) and he said, "I already have a lot of books up in my room. "
Okay, then!

Oh, this is just so very cute. I was able to read everything he had you write and was glad that Grammie and I sent him a Thomas the Tank Engine card for his birthday!
My favorite part: "I try to hug Zoe but she doesn't let me." Too cute! This is going to be an exciting Christmas for Eli!
That's awesome! He reminds me SO much of Kyle when he was that age! His world was (and still is!) all about trucks, BIG trucks & THE BIGGEST EVER trucks!
Loved his letter to St. Nick. You can never have enough books, just ask Aunt Joanie! I bet he would love the Richard Scarry books, seems like he used to include a lot of trucks, etc.

Uh Oh! I think he will be less than thrilled to recieve a book and science stuff for his birthday gift!! Sorry! I DO love his letter. It is hard to believe that he knows who Santa is already! Richmond has a great Santa that comes to the library on Dec 4th if Elijah would like to tell him first hand what he wants! Maybe he will get all those trucks! Love, Mart
Oh, Martha- he LOVED the Diego book and the viewing scope. He really does love books, of course, they're just not as "fun" to ask Santa for :-)This morning, one of the first things he said was, "where's my spider thing?" Thank you, sorry we opened them early, he was having a rough afternoon with a bit of a cold and cough and they really helped to cheer him up. Thank you!!!
I like that he calls himself 2 1/2 even though in 1 week he will be 3.
Estelle's list will include none of Elijah's. Her's involve Playmobile, Barbie, Strawberry shortcake, dresses, etc.
A typical boy...what fun! You'll have to tuck that letter away and put it in his "treasure box".
I found a gigantic Diego coloring book at C.Tree Shoppe and will give it to him at Christmas. A book that he can color all over...yipee!!
Love,
Mary:)
