Space-Aged Laundry

Our newest additions-
A high-efficiency washer A steam dryer You have to work for NASA to figure out what all the control knobs do, and I'm certain that these machines MUST do so much more than laundry.
Like maybe beam you into outer space...Or at least do your taxes.
I mean, I'm pretty sure I'll be using the "normal" setting for both, almost 100% of the time! The good news is that they DO use a lot less energy, and 1/2 (or even less) of the water of a traditional top-loading washing machine.
Maybe we'll get a couple more years out of our septic system after all? We'll see...

SO very jealous. The ones we have here are fine but they are stackable and SMALL! Plus my dryer isn't steam haha. Someday I will get a real size washer/dryer.

Make sure you use the HE detergent, preferably phosphate free... then you will be saving the world as you wash! :)

PS... you should be able to wash your dry clean clothes in there...

Yay! Congrats on your newest additions! As you know, we purchased a similar washer/dryer a few years ago & I'm STILL in love with them!! Not only do they save an incredible amount of energy, but you also use MUCH less laundry soap than you would with a regular washer.
It is incredibly important to make sure you only use H.E. laundry soap. We usually buy ours at BJ's Wholesale Club - we pay about $16 and it lasts us for MONTHS! And I do A LOT of laundry...usually about 6 loads PER WEEK! But because you're only using a small amount of soap, it really does last for a long time. Talk about major savings!!

I have a front load washer over here too Sandy. (but no dryer! ha ha)
I think most appliances in Europe are in generally much more energy efficient than in America - but to be honest I don't know if that is just a European urban myth!
